Ronnie Hayward was a Canadian rockabilly upright bassist, singer, and songwriter, born in Castlegar, British Columbia, around 1962 or 1963. He left his hometown in 1984, spending time in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver before settling in Nelson, BC, in November 2014. Hayward passed away on December 18, 2025, at the age of 63. In his 20s, he was a member of several bands, including The Tailgators, Shotgun Shack, Jimmy Roy's 5 Star Hillbillies, The Nervous Fellas, and The Bughouse Five, with whom he performed from 1991 to 1997. Following this period, he embarked on a solo career, releasing 10 albums under his own name and also performing as part of the Ronnie Haywood Trio, Ronnie Hayward Combo, and Ronnie Artur And His Orkestrio.
