**Bio: Roots Radics** Roots Radics is a reggae band that originated in 1978 as part of the Channel One studio session group known as the Revolutionaries. Following the departure of prominent members Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare, the group evolved into the Roots Radics. The band's roots can be traced back to Morris "Blacker" Wellington's band, the Morwells, which included future Roots Radics members Errol 'Flabba Holt' Carter and Eric 'Bingi Bunny' Lamont. Initially known as the Roots Rock Band and later as Lawes Rockers, the group officially adopted the name Roots Radics in late 1979. Over the years, they have included several musicians such as Dwight Pickney, Wycliffe 'Steely' Johnson, Lincoln 'Style' Scott, Gladstone 'Gladdy' Anderson, Christopher 'Sky Juice' Burt, and Noel 'Scully' Simms. Additional musicians like Noel 'Sowell' Bailey, Eric 'Fish' Clarke, Carlton 'Santa' Davis, and Carl 'Bridge' Ayton have also contributed when needed. For performances requiring a horn section, David Madden, 'Deadly' Headley Bennett, and Dean Fraser were involved. As a leading force in the dancehall style that defined reggae music in the early 1980s, the Roots Radics have supported various artists, including Bunny Wailer, Gregory Isaacs, Barrington Levy, Israel Vibration, Sugar Minott
