Rosa Balistreri (March 21, 1927 - September 20, 1990) was an Italian singer and storyteller from Licata, renowned for her powerful interpretations of Italian folk songs, particularly those from Sicily. She experienced a challenging life, beginning her career by singing and performing at street parties and reciting at Teatro Stabile in Catania. In 1974, she made her television debut on the music show Canzonissima. From 1976 onward, she was accompanied by a musician and composer who created several notable works for her, including "La Ballata del Sale" (The Ballad of the Salt) in 1979, "Buela" in 1982, and "Ohi Bambule" in 1987.
