Rose McDowall is a Scottish singer and guitarist, born on October 21, 1959, in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland. She is best known as one half of the popular goth-pop duo Strawberry Switchblade. In addition to her work with the duo, McDowall has gained recognition as a guest vocalist or "floating member" of several alternative bands, particularly within the neofolk genre. Throughout her career, she has contributed backing or lead vocals for notable acts such as Coil, Current 93, Death in June, Felt, Alex Fergusson, Into a Circle, Megas, Nature and Organisation, Nurse with Wound, Ornamental, Psychic TV, and Boyd Rice, both on recordings and during live performances.
