Rose City Band is a country psychedelic rock project led by acclaimed guitarist and vocalist Ripley Johnson. The band's music evokes the expansive landscapes of the American West and the free spirits that inhabit it. Rose City Band features a talented live ensemble, including pedal steel guitarist Barry Walker, keyboardist Paul Hasenberg, bassist Dewey Mahood (also known as Plankton Wat), and drummer Dustin Dybvig. Their new album, Garden Party, celebrates the joys of summer, communal gatherings, and the beauty of nature, from towering sunflowers to uniquely shaped carrots. The album captures the energy of a live performance, showcasing soaring guitar solos, driving rhythms, elegant pedal steel lines, and groovy organ sounds, all inspired by themes of freedom, contentment, and joy.
