**Bio: Rosie & The Originals** Rosie & The Originals was a vocal group formed by Rosie Hamlin, who was just 14 years old when she wrote the hit song "Angel Baby." Along with some friends, she rented time at a recording studio to record the song, which was released in December 1960 after the group signed with Highland Records. However, shortly after their success, Hamlin encountered issues with the label regarding royalties, as she was not credited as the author of the song; instead, the label insisted that group member David Ponci receive the writing credit due to his age. This dispute led to the group's breakup, and Hamlin fought for years to secure copyright ownership of "Angel Baby." After the split, Hamlin and fellow member Noah Tafolla signed with Brunswick Records, where they recorded an album and toured together. They later married and had children, prompting Hamlin to retire from the music business in 1963 to focus on her family. She made her return to music in 1969, recording several singles and continuing to engage with the industry on and off until the 2000s. The group has included members such as Rose Hamlin, David Ponci, James Bentley, Gene Romero, Joe Yancho, Tony Gomez, Noah Tafolla, Alfred Barrett, and Carl van Goodat.
