Rothko is a band based in London, founded by Mark Beazley in the spring of 1997. They played their first show in August of the same year, with an original lineup that included Mark Beazley, Crawford Blair, and Jon Meade. In 2000, Mark signed a publishing deal, but the original lineup disbanded in 2001, after which Mark continued under the Rothko name. Later that year, he signed a deal with Too Pure Records and started his own label. By 2004, the lineup had changed to include Mark Beazley, Michael Donnelly on bass guitar, Ben Page on keyboards, and Tom Page on drums and percussion. The group toured extensively in France. In October 2010, they parted ways amicably to pursue new musical endeavors. Since August 2015, the band has consisted of Mark Beazley and Michael Donnelly.
