Roxanne Shanté is an American MC born on March 8, 1970, in the Queensbridge Projects of Queens, New York City. She first gained attention through the Roxanne Wars and rose to prominence in 1984 when she recorded vocals in response to a notable event. Her life was dramatized in the 2017 film "Roxanne Roxanne."
