Roy Hall was an American rockabilly and country pianist, composer, and singer, born on May 7, 1921, in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. He passed away on March 2, 1984, in Nashville, Tennessee. Hall was the brother of bluegrass musicians, and after the tragic death of his older brother in a car accident in 1943, James assumed his brother's name. He also performed and recorded with Elvis Presley in 1954.
