Roy Milton (born July 31, 1907, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, USA - died September 18, 1983, in Los Angeles, California, USA) was an American R&B and jump blues singer, drummer, and bandleader. He began his career playing with a band in the late 1920s before relocating to Los Angeles, California, in 1933, where he formed his own band that played rhythm and blues, achieving significant success. Known as the "Grandfather of Rhythm & Blues," he was particularly popular with black audiences from 1945 to 1953.
