Roy Porter was a musician who began his career in the late 1960s with a trio he called Roy Porter Sounds. He later expanded his ensemble, renaming it Roy Porter Sound Machine as he incorporated more horns and instruments. Throughout his career, he released two albums and several 45rpm singles under this name. Porter retired from performing in 1978 due to health issues and passed away on January 25, 1998. In 1984, a compilation LP featuring material from Roy Porter Sound Machine was released.
