Rube Lacy was a Delta blues singer and guitarist born on January 2, 1901, in Pelahatchie, Mississippi. He recorded four titles for Columbia in 1927 and two for Paramount in 1928, although the Columbia recordings were never issued and have not surfaced. Lacy became an ordained minister of the Missionary Baptist Church and worked as a preacher from 1932 into the 1960s. He later recorded gospel songs on February 15, 1966. Lacy passed away on November 14, 1969, in Corcoran, California.
