RuPaul, born on November 17, 1960, in San Diego, California, USA, is an American actor, drag queen, model, and singer-songwriter. He first gained fame in the 1990s through appearances in various television programs, films, and musical albums. Prior to his rise to fame, RuPaul was a prominent figure in the Atlanta and New York City club scenes. He has occasionally performed as a man, billed as RuPaul Charles. RuPaul hosted a long-running talk show on VH1 and currently hosts the reality television show RuPaul's Drag Race.
