Rupert Hine was an English producer, singer, songwriter, and keyboard player, born on September 21, 1947, in Wimbledon, London, UK. He began recording and releasing music under his own name and in various bands since the mid-1960s. Hine was an advocate for the music industry, serving as the chair of the songwriters' committee of the British Association of Songwriters, Composers and Arrangers (BASCA) and participating on the Ivor Novello Awards committee. Alongside tech writer and entrepreneur Alan Graham, he co-founded One-Click Licence (OCL) to align copyright with technology, which led to the creation of the NDiiD app and the Totem service, addressing the monetization and tracking of User Generated Content. Rupert Hine passed away on June 4, 2020, in the UK.
