Russell Pinkston, born on January 1, 1949, is a professor of composition and the director of the electronic music studios at the University of Texas at Austin School of Music. He is a composer, teacher, and sound designer. From 1969 to 1974, he was the lead guitarist, singer, and principal songwriter for Tracks, a progressive rock band that performed throughout New England.
