Rusty Bryant (1929–1991) was an American jazz saxophonist celebrated for his soulful tone and commanding presence on stage. Emerging from Columbus, Ohio’s vibrant jazz scene, he gained early recognition with the Carolyn Club Band and later led his own groups. Bryant’s music blended hard bop, soul jazz, and R&B influences, earning him hits like “All Nite Long” and “Fire Eater” in the 1970s. Renowned for his expressive improvisation and groove-oriented style, he left a lasting mark on the soul-jazz movement of his era.
