Rusty Egan is a British musician, producer, DJ, and remixer born on 19 September 1957 in London, England. Active since the late 1970s, he played a significant role in the New Wave, Electro, and New Romantic movements of the British music scene. Egan is well-known as the DJ at the influential Blitz Club, where he introduced electronic music from Germany (Kraftwerk), Japan (Yellow Magic Orchestra), and Britain (Eno, Ultravox, Landscape) to the British club scene, effectively crafting the soundtrack for the New Romantic movement. He also owned The Cage, a record store on London's King's Road during the New Romantic era. As the Blitz Club gained popularity, Egan became a prominent figure in London's nightlife. In 1982, he co-founded the Camden Palace nightclub in London, further influencing the development of electronica in the UK. Additionally, he shifted to producing records for many of the bands he had previously DJed for, including Spear of Destiny, Shock, Visage, and The Senate.
