Ruth Anderson (March 21, 1928 – November 29, 2019) was an American electronic music pioneer, composer, conductor, and flutist from Kalispell, Montana. She studied music at the University of Washington in Seattle and later became the founder and director of Hunter College's Electronic Music Studio, serving in that role from 1968 to 1979. Anderson studied composition and worked as an orchestrator for NBC, beginning to compose for tape as early as 1958. She was also known for her partnership with an unnamed individual.
