Ruxpin, born Jonas Thor Gudmundsson in 1981, began producing music at the age of 14. His debut release, the Mission EP, came out in 1999 on Uni:Form Recordings, followed by his first LP, Radio, later that same year. This initial success led him to the esteemed label Elektrolux, where he released two more LPs, Midnight Drive and Avalon, as well as an album on their sublabel Mikrolux. In late 2006, he released his fifth full-length album, Elysium, on Mikrolux. Ruxpin's sixth album, Where Do We Float From Here?, was released in 2010 on n5MD. He also offered a free online release titled I Wonder if This is the Place, which included remixes by various artists and additional tracks by Ruxpin himself. In collaboration with Fannar Ásgrímsson from Plastik Joy, he released the debut album Love in Times of Repetition in 2012 under the pseudonym Asonat. Ruxpin has performed live with notable artists such as Múm, Biogen, and Yagya across several countries, including Belgium, Iceland, Denmark, and France.
