Saâda Bonaire is a German music project originally formed in the early 1980s in Bremen, conceived by producer Ralph “von” Richtoven. Blending elements of new wave, dub, disco, and world music, the group—fronted by vocalists Stefanie Lange and Claudia Hossfeld—crafted a distinctive, cosmopolitan sound ahead of its time. Though their debut single “You Could Be More as You Are” (1984) was initially overlooked, Saâda Bonaire later found cult acclaim through archival releases and reissues, celebrated for their genre-defying vision and timeless, global grooves.
