Saafi Brothers is a German fusion electronica project formed around 1996 by Frankfurt-based producers Gabriel Le Mar and Michael Kohlbecker, known as Groovetitan. As a community project, Saafi Brothers has featured a varying cast of collaborators over the years but has maintained Le Mar and Kohlbecker as the sole permanent members. The group has performed extensively at prestigious festivals, including Tribal Gathering. Their debut release came in November 1997 on the British label Blue Room Released, which was the first audiophile label to bring underground electronic music to the forefront. Between 1997 and 1999, Saafi Brothers released three 12" EPs. In June 2000, they produced their second full-length album, distributed overseas by the label's California division. The band has remixed works by various artists, including pioneers of German hip-hop and renowned German club music duos, and appeared on a popular German TV show that gained a cult following. In March 2003, Saafi Brothers released their third album, featuring a more dance-oriented sound, under their newly-created joint label. Their fourth album was released in 2007, continuing their fusion experiments with various genres and collaborations. In February 2014, they produced a live album, featuring guest members and initially available as a digital-only release. In 2015, "Live on the Roadblog" was reissued on CD in the United States, including a bonus track and remixes. In 201
