Sachiko M is a notable artist who was a member of the group Ground Zero from 1994 to 1997, which disbanded in March 1998. During her time with the group, she contributed significantly to their distinctive "plunderphonic" sound characterized by chopped-up sampling. Following the disbanding of Ground Zero, Sachiko M developed a unique performance style that emphasizes the sampler's test tones and noise, leading to nearly memory-free sampling works. Her solo performances, which consist entirely of sine waves, have garnered considerable attention. In addition to her solo work, she frequently collaborates with musicians from around the world.
