Sad Lovers & Giants is a rock band from Watford, England, formed in 1980. Their music features a blend of post-punk, atmospheric keyboards, and psychedelia. The band debuted with the EP "Cle" and the single "Colourless Dream" in 1981, followed by two studio albums: "Epic Garden Music" in 1982 and "Feeding The Flame" in 1983, before disbanding later that year. During their initial period, they recorded a John Peel Session for the BBC and a live concert for Dutch Radio Hilversum, which was released as the album "Total Sound" in 1986. The band reformed in 1987 with a new lineup, and this pattern of splitting and returning with modified lineups has occurred several times since. In 2014, Garçe Allard published "Things We Never Did (The Story Of)," an autobiography of the band. Sad Lovers & Giants operates as a collective. Current lineup includes Garce, Tony McGuinness, Ian Gibson, Nigel Pollard, and Will Hicks. Previous members have included Tristan Garel-Funk, David Wood, and Cliff Silver.
