Sad Lovers & Giants is a rock band from Watford, England, formed in 1980. Their music combines elements of post-punk, atmospheric keyboards, and psychedelia. The band debuted with the EP "Cle" and the single "Colourless Dream" in 1981, followed by two studio albums, "Epic Garden Music" in 1982 and "Feeding The Flame" in 1983, before disbanding later that year. During their initial period, they recorded a John Peel Session for the BBC and a live concert for Dutch Radio Hilversum in 1983, which was later released as the album "Total Sound" in 1986. After their split, they reunited in 1987 with a new lineup, and this pattern of splitting and reforming with modified lineups has continued over the years. In 2014, Garçe Allard published "Things We Never Did (The Story Of)," an autobiography of the band. The band operates as a collective. Current lineup includes Garce, Tony McGuinness, Ian Gibson, Nigel Pollard, and Will Hicks. Other members who have played with the band include Tristan Garel-Funk, David Wood, and Cliff Silver.
