Saffron, born on June 3, 1968, in Ibadan, Nigeria, has a diverse heritage that includes Portuguese, Chinese, and English ancestry. Raised on the English south coast, she became deeply involved in acid house culture, which marked the beginning of her performing career during a US tour. Saffron appeared in the video for "Stargazer" and later joined a band as their vocalist. She contributed her vocals to the Prodigy's cover of "Fuel My Fire" on "Fat Of The Land." Throughout her career, she collaborated with various artists and eventually teamed up with others to form a new group. After the break-up of Republica, she worked with members of different bands on tracks such as "Just Say Yes" and "Beauty Never Fades."
