Salamat is a musical ensemble founded by Egyptian percussionist Mahmoud Fadl in 1993. Bringing together some of the finest musicians and singers from the Nubian culture, including members of Ali Hassan Kuban’s band, Salamat recorded their debut album, *El Mambo Soudani*, at El Araby Studio in Cairo. Their music is deeply rooted in Nubian traditions while embracing influences from Egypt and beyond, resulting in a unique blend of raw percussion, wailing brass, and vocals infused with Pan-African, Latin American, and Mediterranean elements. Salamat's innovative sound has garnered international recognition, with their track "Om Ul Khair" featured in the German drama series "4 Blocks."
