Leroy Dandridge, known as Singing Sam, is one half of the musical duo Sam & Kitty, alongside Katherine Stewart, who is also known as Miss Kitty Grove. They were partners in both music and life. Contrary to some beliefs, Edith Brown, the niece of Jack Daniels, is a Chicago singer in her own right and is not to be confused with Miss Kitty Grove. There has been a misconception that Kitty, who recorded two singles on Four Brothers under the name of Sam & Kitty, was associated with Leroy Dandridge. This misunderstanding has been perpetuated, but it is important to clarify that Miss Kitty Grove, alias Katherine Stewart, was the true partner of Leon Dandridge in the Sam & Kitty duo.
