Sam Sweetsinger Bell is a popular singer and songwriter from Philadelphia, born in 1924. At the height of his career, he fell ill and was diagnosed with liver cancer, with doctors estimating he had only a few days to live. After receiving a message from God promising healing in exchange for his service, he survived the illness. Following this experience, he changed his performing name to Samuel Sweetsinger Bell and began composing gospel songs.
