Sam Waymon is an American actor, film composer, songwriter, performer, singer, and pianist, as well as a civil rights activist. He was born on August 16, 1944, in North Carolina. Waymon is the brother of a well-known figure in the music industry, for whom he wrote music and with whom he performed for over ten years before embarking on a solo career. He acted in and composed music for the film "Ganja & Hess" and served as the musical director and composer for three musicals.
