Sammy Barbot is an Italian singer, dancer, club DJ, and TV presenter born on September 5, 1950, in Le Lamentin, Martinique. He moved to Paris, France, with his family in his youth. In 1967, he became the lead vocalist of a band, but for the next few years, he primarily sang, danced, and DJ'd in various restaurants and clubs to make a living. His last DJ job was in 1977 at the "Charlie Club" in Rome, Italy, where he relocated to pursue more high-profile opportunities. Barbot gained popularity after being discovered by writers from Italy's network and appearing on the TV show "Piccolo Slam," featuring the track "Toccami" (1977), which he co-wrote. He achieved an Italian chart #1 with another TV-related track, the theme for the program "Happy Circus" (1981), which he wrote with his wife, Vivì Barbot. He continued his musical and television work until the end of the 1980s. Sammy Barbot is married and has a son who is also a club DJ.
