Samo Kutin is a Slovenian multi-instrumentalist born in 1982, dedicated to exploring and manipulating the diverse potentials of his primary instrument, the hurdy-gurdy, within the realm of free improvisation. He operates in extreme acoustic dimensions, ranging from silent noise to loud drones and from soft blows to unbearable screeches. Kutin employs unconventional preparations and extreme amplification techniques, utilizing both contact microphones and acoustic resonators. He regularly collaborates in international duos with notable musicians including Jean-Luc Guionnet, Daichi Yoshikawa, Boris Baltschun, Lee Patterson, and most recently, Martin Küchen.
