Sampa The Great is a Zambian hip-hop MC, singer, songwriter, and poet, born in 1993 in Ndola, Zambia, and raised in Botswana. She has been based in Sydney, Australia since 2013 and relocated to Melbourne in 2018. Her debut solo album, The Return, released in September 2019, peaked at No. 12 on the ARIA Albums Chart. In the following year, her single 'Final Form' won the Best Hip Hop Release award. Sampa's mother is from the Bemba people, and her father is Tumbuka. She has a sister who is also a recording artist.
