Sandii, born Aya Suzuki in Japan, is a singer who moved to Hawaii at the age of 10. There, she began training as a Hula dancer before pursuing a music career in the mid-1970s. After releasing her debut single on an indie label in Hawaii, she returned to Japan, where she worked as a DJ and entertainer, eventually securing a record deal with Toho with the support of Kyu Sakamoto. In the late 1970s, Sandii recorded various sessions under different names, often uncredited, for TV and radio commercials. She continues to record music while also running Hula schools and working as a TV presenter.
