**Bio: Santana** Santana is a Latin/progressive/hard rock/AOR band formed in 1966 in San Francisco, California, originally under the name Santana Blues Band. The band gained widespread attention after their performance at the Woodstock Festival in 1969, leading to the success of their self-titled debut album. This was followed by two more hit albums, "Abraxas" (1970) and "Santana III" (1971), all released under Columbia Records. In 1972, "Caravanserai" marked a shift towards a more jazz-oriented sound, moving away from rock. The subsequent albums "Welcome" (1973), "Borboletta" (1974), and the triple live album "Lotus" are notable from this period. Over the decades, the band experienced numerous lineup changes and occasionally shifted towards a more commercial and pop-oriented sound while maintaining their Latin influence. In 1991, Santana left Columbia for Polydor, releasing "Milagro" in 1992, and later signed with Arista in 1998. This partnership led to their greatest commercial and critical success, including eight Grammy Awards and three Latin Grammy Awards for the 1999 album "Supernatural," which featured their first No. 1 hit, "Smooth." Santana performed at the 25th-anniversary concert of Woodstock in 1994 and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. In
