Saodaj' is a musical group from Reunion Island, embodying a fresh Reunionese and modern Pan-Indian Ocean style influenced by Southern and Austronesian elements. Since its formation in 2012, the group has developed a nomadic maloya sound that explores identity through the integration of diverse influences. With a foundation in traditional percussion from Reunion and beyond, Saodaj' uses poetry to reflect on the beauties and excesses of contemporary life, symbolizing the cultural crossroads that Reunion represents.
