Saphileaum, the pseudonym of Georgian multi-media artist Andro Gogibedashvili, was born on October 25, 1997, in Tbilisi, Georgia. Growing up in a family rich in Georgian musical tradition, with a famous national singer and actor as a grandfather and a poet and novelist as a father, Andro's artistic journey has been deeply influenced by his heritage. His music blends various genres, including Ambient, Downtempo, Balearic, and New Age, creating immersive sonic experiences inspired by Georgian myths, esotericism, and the secrets of the universe. A significant milestone in Saphileaum's career occurred in 2022 when a snippet of his composition "Cosmic Lake Transparency," from the project "Stihia Beyond," was transmitted to the exoplanet K2-18B, marking him as the second Georgian artist to have music sent into deep space. His innovative approach has led to contributions to prestigious projects, including music for Porsche's new 911 model presentation and Maison Margiela's backstage photo exhibition during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Tbilisi, as well as soundtracks for several Georgian films. Saphileaum has released a diverse array of albums and EPs on international labels, each reflecting his unique blend of cosmic expansiveness and meditative storytelling.
