She often performed solo at a piano bar and with her trio, The Soul Babies, at the Eddie Davis Night Club in Hollywood, California, where she drew standing room crowds. Her only recording, released in 1967 on Faro Records, features Barry White on congas and background vocals by members of The Sa-Shays. The song quickly gained popularity, receiving steady airplay on local AM radio stations like KGFJ.
