Sassafras is a Welsh band formed in 1970, known for their proud heritage and a unique blend of rock 'n' roll, progressive rock, and country, with a strong emphasis on harmony. A distinctive feature of their music is the use of twin guitar solos. They hold the UK record for the most live gigs performed by a group in a single year. The band reformed in 2001, adding Marco James on keyboards, and continued until 2004, when they split again after a brief period during which he took over vocal duties, succeeding Ricky John Holt.
