Satan's Pilgrims is a surf instrumental band formed in 1992 in Portland, Oregon. The band consists of members Bob Pilgrim, Dave Pilgrim, John Pilgrim, Scott Pilgrim, and Ted Pilgrim. They took their name from the 60's AIP film "Satan's Sadists" and quickly gained recognition for their unique sound and matching outfits, complete with vampire capes. The Pilgrims are known for their influential "Pilgrim Rock" sub-genre, which blends Southern California surf sounds with the legacy of Pacific Northwest rock 'n' roll. Their live performances are characterized by a vibrant mix of dance party sounds and a distinct haunted atmosphere, thanks to their three guitarists and a relentless rhythm section. After years of touring across the U.S. and Europe, the band went on hiatus in November 2000 when drummer Ted Pilgrim relocated to Memphis, TN. During their break, Musick Records expressed interest in releasing a retrospective of their work, prompting the band to write new material. In December 2004, they released "Plymouth Rock - The Best of Satan's Pilgrims," which included four new songs and marked their return to the music scene. In 2005, the band reunited for a performance in Portland and continued to play shows, recording the album "Psychsploitation" in 2009.
