Roberto Zanetti, known by his stage name Savage, was born on November 28, 1956, in Massa, Italy. He began studying piano at the age of 14 and had his first hit in 1978 with the band Santarosa, which achieved sales of 200,000 copies in Italy with the song "Souvenir." In 1983, he launched his own group, Taxi, alongside Zucchero "Sugar" Fornaciari, and released the single "To Miami." Zanetti adopted the alias Savage, inspired by the comic character Doc Savage, and is recognized for composing one of the most popular Italo-Disco slow tracks, "Don't Cry Tonight."
