**Scientifik (Dinitry Alexander Behrmann)** Born on July 23, 1972, in Flatbush, Brooklyn, Dinitry Alexander Behrmann, better known by his stage name Scientifik, was an American rapper from Boston, Massachusetts. He was the third youngest of three children, and after the death of his mother at a young age, he moved to Lawrence, Massachusetts, to live with his grandmother and aunt. By the time he relocated, he had already begun his rap career, initially performing under the name MC D-1 and gaining recognition in the local hip hop scene. In 1990, Scientifik participated in a rhyme contest at Club Seven in New Hampshire, where he battled and won against Ed O.G, who later became a prominent figure in the Boston hip hop scene and executive produced Scientifik's debut album. He signed with the Definite label in the early 1990s and released the single "Jungles of da East" in 1994, followed by his debut album, *Criminal*. Despite featuring a notable production team, the album suffered from a lack of promotional support due to the bankruptcy of the releasing record label, leading Scientifik to sell copies personally and gain airplay on local college radio stations. As his career progressed, Scientifik developed an interest in religion, self-help, and philosophy, which began to influence his lyrics, incorporating themes from the Five-Percent Nation and Louis Farrakhan.
