Scooter is a German dance band founded in Hamburg, originally consisting of H.P. Baxxter, Rick J. Jordan, and Ferris Bueller, with manager Jens Thele. The band has sold over 30 million records and earned 80 gold and platinum awards, making them the most successful single-record German act with 23 top ten hits. Initially specializing in Happy Hardcore and Bouncy Techno, Scooter has evolved to focus on Hands Up, Techno, Trance, Hardstyle, and Jumpstyle, while occasionally experimenting with Hip Hop, Hard Rock, and House. Scooter's signature sound features spoken or shouted vocals, pitch-shifted chorus vocals, and live performance elements such as crowd samples. They are known for popular hits like "Hyper Hyper," "Move Your Ass!," "Fire," "How Much Is The Fish?," "Posse (I Need You On The Floor)," "Ramp! (The Logical Song)," "Nessaja," "Weekend!," "Maria (I Like It Loud)," "One (Always Hardcore)," and "Jumping All Over the World." The band has undergone several lineup changes over the years. Former members include those from various chapters, with the latest changes occurring in December 2022 when Michael Simon and Sebastian Schilde announced their departure.
