Scott Fagan is an American singer-songwriter, born in 1945 on 52nd Street in New York City. He is the son of singer Frankie "Chu" Galvin, a former member of the entertainment trio Tic Tac Toe, and jazz singer and dancer Lelia Kelly. After his parents split, he was raised by his mother in Charlotte Amalie on Saint Thomas, one of the U.S. Virgin Islands. In 1964, Fagan moved to New York to pursue his music career, seeking out Doc Pomus, who appreciated his talent. After being signed by manager Herb Gart, Fagan worked on his debut album over three years. Although he nearly signed with Apple Records, he eventually signed with Atco, where his success went largely unnoticed. His career included a lithograph by Jasper Johns titled "Scott Fagan Record" in 1970, a Broadway rock opera called "Soon" in 1971 that flopped, and a second unsuccessful album in 1975. Fagan's career seemed to end until his debut album was rediscovered in 2015, receiving rave reviews. He returned to live in the Virgin Islands, occasionally performing live, and was reunited with his son, Stephin, in 2012.
