Seawind is an American jazz fusion band that originated in Hawaii in 1974 under the name Ox. To avoid legal issues, they changed their name to Seawind in 1976 when they relocated to Los Angeles, California. The move was largely facilitated by a connection who secured them a regular gig at the Baked Potato in Studio City, just north of Hollywood, and also helped them land a recording contract with CTI. This led to the release of two albums in 1976 and 1977. After extensive touring, their next two albums were released on A&M in 1979 and 1980. The band disbanded in 1982 but reunited for a new album in 2009 titled Reunion.
