Semiramis Pekkan, born on September 30, 1948, in Istanbul, Turkey, is a renowned Turkish film actress and singer. She began her career in 1964 with a role in the film "Kara Memed," directed by Tunç Başaran, and made guest appearances on the Meydan Stage from 1965 to 1966. In 1968, Pekkan ventured into music, releasing numerous singles through major labels like Columbia, Odeon, and Kervan. She recorded three studio albums in 1970, 1972, and 1975, earning a Gold Record Award for her hit single “Bu Ne Biçim Hayat.” After a long hiatus due to her marriage, Pekkan made a comeback in 2022 with new recordings, including the singles “Bana Yalan Söylediler” and “Unutamadım,” which reaffirmed her significant presence in Turkish music. She is also known as the younger sister of a Turkish pop icon.
