Senor Coconut, led by Uwe Schmidt, is a musical project inspired by his move from Germany to Santiago, Chile. The project revisits classic songs from the 70s and 80s, reinterpreting them with a distinct Latin flair. Señor Coconut operates as both a solo act and as Señor Coconut Y Su Conjunto, which translates to "And His Band" in Spanish; however, the "band" primarily consists of an Akai MPC3000 and S6000. In later releases, Uwe incorporates real musicians to play acoustic instruments.
