Señor Coconut and His Orchestra is a project led by Uwe Schmidt, inspired by his relocation from Germany to Santiago, Chile. The project reinterprets classics from the 70s and 80s with a Latin flair. Initially, it began with Uwe Schmidt working solo, known as Señor Coconut Y Su Conjunto, which translates to "And His Band" in Spanish; however, the "band" primarily consists of an Akai MPC3000 and S6000. In later releases, Uwe invites guest live musicians to play acoustic instruments, and the project adopts the name Señor Coconut And His Orchestra. The band tours extensively, performing a selection of tracks from the entire Señor Coconut project.
