Serge Gainsbourg was a multifaceted artist born on April 2, 1928, in Paris to Jewish Russian parents. He was a poet, singer-songwriter, painter, actor, and director, and he passed away on March 2, 1991. Gainsbourg had well-known children, including a daughter, Charlotte, and a son, Lucien Gainsbourg (aka Lulu), as well as two other children, Natacha (born August 8, 1964) and Paul (born April 13, 1968), with Françoise Antoinette Pancrazzi. Initially aspiring to be a painter, Gainsbourg earned a living as a piano player in bars. He was cast in the musical 'Milord L'Arsouille', where he reluctantly took on a singing role. Self-conscious about his appearance, he initially aimed to be a composer and producer rather than a performer. Gainsbourg sought to distance himself from traditional 'chanson' and was influenced by British and American pop music. He wrote soundtracks for over 40 movies and directed four films: 'Je t'aime... moi non plus', 'Equateur', 'Charlotte For Ever', and 'Stan The Flasher'. His song "Je t'aime... moi non plus," released in 1969, featured simulated sounds of female orgasm and was initially recorded with Brigitte Bardot, who later backed out.
