Sessa is a musician from São Paulo, known for his debut album "Grandeza," which explores new directions in modern Brazilian music. His songs are performed in Portuguese, featuring visceral and sensual lyrics reminiscent of Caetano Veloso, combined with melodic flourishes akin to Tom Jobim. Sessa's music adopts a minimalist approach, a rarity in contemporary Brazilian music, drawing comparisons to the simplicity of Leonard Cohen while incorporating elements of tropicalia, folk, and cosmic jazz. A long-time presence in both American and Brazilian music scenes, he has collaborated with NY guitar legend Yonatan Gat and co-founded the São Paulo rock band Garotas Suecas. Sessa's solo debut offers a soft focus portrait of Brazilian music, blending devotional sounds with a decisively modern sensibility.
