Garnett Cross, commonly known as Sgt Pepper, is a talented keyboard player from the UK and the youngest brother in a successful family of musicians. He is related to notable artists Sandra Cross, Victor Cross, Hector Cross, and Derrick Cross, all of whom have made significant contributions to UK Lovers Rock and Reggae music. Garnett began his musical journey at the age of nine, learning to sing, play keyboards, and drums in an environment rich with music. He quickly progressed to playing professional keyboards with the Brixton-based band Aquizim. His recording career began with the South London record label ‘Studio 16,’ owned by Winston Edwards, where he made his debut as a DJ (toasting) on the B-side of Sandra Cross’s hit single ‘I Just Don’t Care.’ Garnett furthered his career at Ariwa Records under the guidance of the renowned Mad Professor. At just 15 years old, he sang and composed the single “Come Back Again,” which marked the launch of the Ariwa label. He contributed to numerous songs that have become foundational pieces of reggae music. His album ‘Judgement Day’ showcased his songwriting talents, featuring tracks such as “True-True Loving,” “Time Of My Life,” and “Magnet,” along with a series of solid releases on the Ariwa Records label.
